In autumn last year we went looking for a young colt of reliable
genetics and visible future sport perspective. A stallion to add value
to our breeding program as well as our sport program.
We finally found what we were looking for in our own barn.

Dark Sensation is one of the three licensed sons by Destano, who
celebrated his first public appearance at the Oldenburg licensing in
Vechta 2014. Even at this young age, he caught the eye of some
visitors, who observed the young stallions focusing on sport related excellence.
The young and still visibly immature colt already appeared
as a complete horse of three developable gaits and qualified as a
promising sport prospect.
A few months later Dark Sensation moved into the Krüsterhof.
Under the saddle of Martin Pfeiffer, the young stallion matured
unstressed and turned into a shapely young dressage horse in every
respect. Uncomplicated and easy going, exactly the promising dressage
prospect we had been looking for and we knew what we had in him already.
Like father, like son. On top of that, he was already licensed.

Martin showed the three year-old Dark Sensation only once that year.
They entered a riding horse class for 3 and 4-year old horses and
scored well amongst elder competitors earning scores of 8. In autumn of
that year, Dark Sensation completed his 30-day stallion performance test
and is now ready to start his career in sport and breeding.

Quality is no coincidence.
Dark Sensation descends from a small but nice sporthorse family of
great content, especially for North American breeders and sport horse
fans. His grandmother, Donna Clara by Donnerhall, is the dam of Tina
Konyot's Grand Prix mount, Harmony's Wyoming by Weltmeyer. Her own
daughter by Weltmeyer, Welt-Clara, produced the Oldenburg licensed
stallion Final Dance by Fifty Cent. In 2007 Donna Clara gave birth to
the Hannoverian registered Connaisseur by Con Amore, who was initially
licensed in Westfalia. Connaisseur went to Sweden and was stationed at the
Flyinge State Stud in 2010 for his first breeding season.  At age four he
moved to the Netherlands where he was also approved by the KWPN and
the Belgium Stud Book. Connaisseur commenced an impressive sport career
under the saddle of Emmelie Scholtens and the pair made a stellar
appearance at the PAVO Cup 2012. Meanwhile, Connaisseur enjoys Canadian
ownership and has left some remarkable footsteps in Europe with his
young progeny beginning to mature under saddle.

Dark Sensation is a visible son of his sire Destano, who stood out as a
successful sport horse right from the start. Last year, eight years young,
Destano added his first win at S-level to his already impressive track
record which shows only wins, seconds and third rankings
in the FN yearbook through all his years. Destano is a son of the famous
Olympic mount Desperados FRH who won gold for Germany.
Destano's dam, Bella Nova, is by Brentano II, who also sired both the
top American dressage horses Brentina (Debby McDonald) and Breanna
(Kathleen Raine).  Destano's eldest progeny under saddle are still young
but already convince of rideability and work ethic and they do so by
delivering favorable results in young horse classes in sport.

Inbred to the legendary Donnerhall and Weltmeyer and respectfully completed
by Brentano II, Dark Sensation combines the best of proven and
traditional German bloodlines. Exactly what we have been looking for to
complement our stallion roster!
