Elton John – WC-finalist and Prix St.Georges-winner

In may 2018 Elton John celebrated his first international success at the CDI in munich with over 72% and a second place in the preliminary test of the “Nurnberger Burg-Pokal”.

After numerous victories up to Prix St.Georges-level, this beautiful golden chestnut is now preparing for his S***-career with his rider Stefanie Wolf and their coach Johann Hinnemann.

Out of a manageable number of matings, next to his daughter “Eine wie keine” who managed to qualify for the “Bundeschampionat” - the german championships for young horses - further promising youngsters in our fields confirm our hopes of him not only being a beautiful and talented athlete but also a convincing sire.

Elton John was the dressage winner of the 30-day-test in Schlieckau in 2013 and received multiple “9’s” for trot, rideability and performance readiness. Especially his unflinching rhythm in walk, which has nearly always been rewarded with 8 or more from young horse tests until today in high class dressage tests.

As a five-year-old, Elton John managed to make a clean sweep:

With a whopping 9.0 he managed to win his first test for five year olds and several superior victories followed. In the same year, Elton John was nominated to represent the Netherlands at the Dressage World Breeding Championships in Verden, where he managed to reach the finals. Further, he also reached the finals of the Pavo-Cup in the Netherlands and thereby once more underlined his position as one of the best five year old horses in his home country.

Elton John owes his eye-catching movements to his father Jazz, who is one of the most important stallions for dutch breeding. He is interantionals Grand Prix-Winner and was part of the national team at the WEG in Jerez de la Frontera in 2002. Grandfather Cocktail, who influences Elton Johns sire- and damline, was also highly successful on international Grand Prix-Level with his rider Anky van Grunsven.

His mothers father Fidermark has a special and personal meaning to Johann Hinnemann. This sympathetic and extremely important stallion for the german dressage breeding, who sadly died far too early, was stationed at the Krüsterhof until 2003. With his rider Marlies van Baalen, he managed to qualify for the finals of the Nurnberger Burg-Pokal in 2000 and was successful up to GP-level.

Elton Johns grandmother Korinthe (by Cocktail) is also mothe of Coby van Baalens international Grand Prix horse Pasternak (by Gribaldi).

Elton Johns damline is highly valued in the Netherlands. He represents the NL-Merrielijn 029 (also known as damline of “Otrichta”), which is characterized by its high power density on the highest level.

Next to numerous licensed and internationally successful Stallions such as Gershwin and Inspekteur also the GP-Horses Nadine (Hans-Peter Minderhout, Olympic Games Hongkong 2008), Grafitti (Irina Meyer), Windsor (Annekee Oostra), Finesse (Marian Dorresteijn), Picasso (Karin Snoek) und Hidalgo (Mariska van der Linden) come from this damline.
